The situation between Iran and the United States seems better than it has been in years. This sudden improvement was apparently caused by the Trump administration killing a top Iranian General named Qasem Soleimani. The specifics of that strike are not pertinent to this story because I want to focus on the aftermath.
At first, many Americans were afraid that the killing would be the spark that started WW III. It only took a few days though for the Iranian people to begin to stand up in large numbers in support of the United States and President Trump. There were mass protests in the streets against the ruling regime in Iran.
I think that this is the perfect opportunity for Americans and Iranians to get to know each other. I believe that the Internet blackout in Iran is still in effect (initiated by the regime around Christmas time last year I believe?). Below are some social network feeds based on current information about Iran and coming out of Iran. Posts by everyday people re in my opinion the most honest form of journalism today.
