Last night more than 50 people were killed and over 200 injured by a shooter at a music festival near Las Vegas. The alleged shooter, who was also killed by law enforcement, is named Steven C Paddock and finding out who he was and what led him to commit an act like this is all that is left after the mourning for the fallen and the healing for the survivors.

Details about the alleged shooter are understandably sparse at this time. He does not seem to have had much of an online presence and this makes it harder to gain insight into his life than perpetrators of other recent crimes such as the Congressional baseball practice shooting by James Hodgkinson.

I began investigating Mr. Paddock online without much success. All that is out there is his name, address and age. With those facts in hand I turned to the website “BeenVerified” in order to try to see if I could turn up more information on the suspect. Even there the information was somewhat sparse although there was enough information to be able to start researching further into people he may have known and addresses where he may have lived.

One item of interest is that he may have had a private pilot certification. I bought a copy of the report from BeenVerified and am including it here as a downloadable pdf in case any other independent journalists (or others) would like to use this data to investigate further into who Steven C Paddock was.
